History

  BIOGRAPHY    The Hollowman is a member of the techno-organic alien species Thozai residing on planet Vicubos.
For centuries the Thozai believed in a prophecy in which the Hollowman, a being capable of interacting safely with The Angel, would be born and change the world. The Hollowman would, as its name suggests, have a physically hollow interior to accommodate the Angel.
The Angel is a glowing white, pearl like orb (approximately the size of a baseball) suspended in a large body of black fluid on Vicubos. Upon being interacted with physically by an organism, the Angel would change the organism’s molecular composition into that of a metallic substance known as Chromalt — killing them. Chromalt is a rare, highly durable metallic material found otherwise only as a naturally occurring substance in the body of the Thozai species.
Verase was born with an empty chest cavity, and was thus given the title of The Hollowman as the prophecy foretold. In a coming of age ceremony, during which The Hollowman was approximately 20 years of age, she was sent into the body of fluid to obtain The Angel. The Hollowman descended into the pool and upon reaching the Angel, pried her own chest cavity in to allow the entrance of the Angel. Upon communing with the orb, her chest was sealed and she returned to the surface.
When The Hollowman reached the surface, the Angel within her, she embraced her parents. With a newfound power granted by the Angel, what she now refers to as a “plague” began to spread. Similar to the reconstruction to Chromalt the Angel would cause, the Hollowman’s hands now had the same effect, although now a contagion. Less complex organisms such as plant life would become an obsidian like substance with protrusions akin to spines. This “plague” would quickly sweep across Vicubos and the Thozai species, effectively driving them to extinction with the exception of The Hollowman. As the prophecy foretold, she changed the world.
The Hollowman now seeks to renew late stage societies through destruction and grief. Societies who fall into patterns of violence, overconsumption, and heavy industrialization are targets of the Hollowman. Upon reaching these planets she will spread the Chromalt plague, with the goal to leave survivors who will restart society with the intent to change for the better. The Hollowman views grief as the ultimate form of love, and therefore a means of motivation to change.
